Solar Water Pumping System – Lasbela University, Uthal | SSES
A 15 kW solar water pumping system installed by SSES at Lasbela University, Uthal on 16 August 2019, ending persistent water shortages during load-shedding with a sustainable, eco-friendly solution.

On 16 August 2019, SSES completed a 15 kW solar water pumping system at the Lasbela University of Agriculture, Water & Marine Sciences, Uthal. Faced with critical water shortages due to frequent load-shedding, the University trusted our lowest-bid solar solution, which quickly restored water supply and earned praise from the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Dost Muhammad Baloch.
Project Highlights
- Delivered under the lowest-bid tender—maximum value for the university.
- Solar array at 15 kW to reliably fill the overhead water tank during outages.
- Installed swiftly and efficiently, minimizing disruption.
- Clean, low-maintenance, and cost-saving alternative to diesel pumps.
How This System Resolved Water Crisis
The solar system operated independently of the grid, ensuring the campus never ran dry—critically enabling layered irrigation and dormitory water supply without dependence on unreliable electricity.
